Hi Larry here with this month release.

Some of you may hear the word Neon and think that is simply an old school way of lighting sign letters on a store front, retail center,  business or restaurant?

After all, LED sign lighting is slowly taking the place of neon lit,  in most part, but neon sign lettering still has it’s advantages.

Neon lit sign letters will create stunning visual appeal and attract attention when one is looking for more then just a typical raised LED back lit sign letter.

These types of  Neon lettering maybe categorized as follows:

  • Open Face Pan Channel Neon Letters
  • Reverse Back Lit Halo Neon Lettering
  • Custom Neon Sign Letters
  • Neon Sign and Face Trim

For example:

Neon Business Signage

Notice how vibrant this exposed open face neon signage is at night

Open Face Pan Channel letters is where the neon is exposed from the front.

This type of exposed neon is sure to stand out in a crowd because the bright colorful glowing neon tubes attract the eye.

See the Aces photo on this release. How does one not see this?

It’s important to note, that some jurisdictions, locations, malls, retail centers and commercial business locations will not allow for the use of open face pan channel letters because they are so bright.

However, if you are located in the City of Las Vegas, they require this type of signage lettering.

Nothing better then bright neon lights!

Back Lit Neon Sign Letters

For elegant appeal, make use of back lit halo effect neon letter signs like this

As for Reverse Back Lit Halo Neon lettering, this sign lighting technique is utilized to create an elegant appeal.

You see how the glowing neon reflects from behind the lettering?

This is why it’s known as the Halo type.

Back lit halo produces a warm glow of elegant appeal.

Don’t you agree?

Now Custom Neon Sign Letters, is what it is, it’s custom.

Custom is utilized to create awestricken visuals that deserve a double take.

See the photo of the glowing blue back ground of a typical halo reverse lit letter combined with a front lit normal pan channel store front letter to create two different colors on one sign?

Yes, it takes craftsmanship to pull this off, but the end visual is worth effort that goes into creating custom neon sign lettering.

Another way to enhance the sign lettering visuals is by adding Neon Sign and Face Trim.

Neon Trim Restaurant Sign

Adding simple neon trim and face highlights to this outdoor restaurant sign attracts attention

See the cool looking Tahiti sign photo on this release.

Notice how the subtle neon perimeter trim and slight exposed neon face trim add to the look and appeal of this restaurant sign at night.

Yes, it’s already a custom sign but the neon trim adds a finishing touch which is sure to turn heads.

Bottom line, there is no substitute for these types of neon sign letters and lettering.

Sure, LED sign lighting is good for normal sign letters but LED doesn’t provide the pop and appeal that neon does.

With that shared,  if you want to create appeal and attract attention to you’re store front, business, commercial center or restaurant, then consider asking about one of these types of neon sign lettering options today.

Remember, check with property management where you plan to lease space or the jurisdiction to see if you may utilize one of these types of cool neon sign letter type.

Until next month, may you start turning heads today.

I like the halo effect because the glow from behind the sign looks really nice. My spouse and I are trying to get a new sign for our company so that we are easy to find. We need to find a local company that can help us design a sign that is eye-catching.
